Javapedia
The folks at Java.net -- who I take it are Sun employees -- have set up a Wikipedia style online collaborative reference system called Javapedia.
It would be nice if this project lives up to its ambition to be a Java Wikipedia. I'm not sure it's there yet: they seem to average about two updates a day (just an estimate based on eyeballing the changes list as of 2/2/2006). I'd expect more, but I'm not sure my expectations are realistic.
I guess I'm also a bit concerned that this is an in-house effort at Sun, rather than an independent enterprise; I'd hope that writers would feel free to be critical of Java and of Sun when it's called for.
Anyway, it's one more resource for my list, in my quest to catch up on the last eight years of Java technology. More about which later.
